Steel Core understands that methodologies utilized in mining and fracking need to be as low-impact upon the environment as possible. Water at mining site, be it stormwater run-off or wastewater generated from processing requires strict management to avoid adverse contact with the environment.

Mining wastewater used usually treated to remove dissolved metals and organic and inorganic pollutants. Initially this takes place in large “settling” tanks. For this purpose Steel Core manufactures Temporary Storage Tanks in capacities up to 2,000,000 gallons. Once the solids have settled the wastewater then goes through further treatment involving removal of residual chemicals and organic-inorganics associated with the particular types of mining that water is derived from. Steel Core offers a wide variety of holding tanks for these processes with “specialty” liners to handle the caustic substance present in this kind of wastewater.

Fracking involves mixture of water, sand, and chemicals under high pressure being injected into the ground to remove oil and gas from rock. Pockets of underground salt water are also occassional hit and create a high saline wastewater by-product of the fracking process.

Steel Core offers Temporary Storage Tanks with XR-5 and other "specialty" liners that can withstand these harsh chemicals. Complete with floating covers these tanks can handle capacities up to 2,000,000 gallons and can be easily disassembled and reassembled from site to site.
